Services

Listed below are the types of treatment methods that are available to patients in our office. While not all of our treatments methods are appropriate for every condition, a unique treatment plan is designed for each patient by combining these modalities to help each patient achieve their health goals.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in which hair thin, sterile needles are placed gently into the body at specific acupuncture points. By needling these points, the nervous system is stimulated into releasing chemicals that help reduce pain and decrease inflammation.

Cupping

Cupping therapy is one of the modalities used in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is most commonly used to help alleviate muscle aches and pains, but it can also benefit the lungs and improve energy.

Tui Na Massage

A form of Chinese medical massage which is used to manipulate the joints, viscera, and soft tissues. This form of manual therapy is used in traditional Chinese medicine to encourage and improve blood flow to areas of the body, decrease pain, and inflammation.

Electro-Acupuncture

Electro-acupuncture is a form of acupuncture that delivers a small electrical current via a device that it attached to the handle of the needle.  Electro-acupuncture can be used to address a range of health issues including pain, stress, addiction and depression.

Gua Sha

Gua Sha is a modality of traditional Chinese Medicine where a smooth, hand-held tool is used to scrape the skin. Gua sha can be used to alleviate acute or chronic musculoskeletal pain, improve circulation and decrease inflammation. Western therapists have have adopted the technique and their version of the therapy is called the Graston Technique.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

One of the earliest forms of medicine, Chinese herbal medicine is another component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). A variety of herbs can used in different combinations to restore balance to the body, promote immune function and treat disease without side effects.

Guidance on eating optimally for your individual constitution, based on Eastern Food therapy and Western Nutrition recommendations for the support and treatment of health and medical conditions.
